On behalf of our client, we are seeking a dynamic and well-connected Government Relations & Regulatory Affairs Manager with a deep understanding of Abu Dhabi’s regulatory framework, particularly in the construction sector. The ideal candidate will serve as the face of the organization when dealing with government entities, ensuring compliance, accelerating licensing and permitting processes, and maintaining robust institutional relationships across key governmental bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
Relationship Management & Liaison:
- Act as the primary liaison between the company and Abu Dhabi government departments.
- Maintain and nurture strong, active relationships with:
- Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM)
- Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM)
- Land Department
- Ministry of Justice
- Urban Planning Council
- Ministry of Interior
- Department of Energy
- Department of Transport
- Department of Community Development
- Department of Health
- Identify key personnel in these organizations and strategize long-term engagement plans.
- Represent the company in government meetings and regulatory forums.
Legal & Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay up to date with applicable laws, procedures, and regulatory changes impacting construction and real estate development.
- Lead the end-to-end process for:
- Company licensing, permits, and renewals
- Construction licensing, approvals, and renewal processes
- Residency affairs and labor permits
- Advise internal teams on legal and regulatory implications.
Government Platforms & Portals:
- Expert use of platforms including TAMM, Tawtheeq, DARI, ADGM, GoAML, and other relevant portals.
- Submit, track, and manage applications and documentation through government e-services.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry and documentation on official systems.
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Public Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years in government relations or regulatory affairs.
- Track record of successfully facilitating licensing and regulatory approvals.
- Strong documentation and reporting abilities.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the UAE, preferably in construction, real estate, or legal advisory sectors.
- Strong and demonstrable relationships with key Abu Dhabi government entities.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
- Deep understanding of UAE legal, regulatory, and permitting frameworks.
- Tech-savvy with a strong grasp of digital government platforms.
